August Fridays - Chilly and grey

Today was a chilly day, it felt like late September, not August. Here in Montreal, we didn't even hit 20C and for the most part it seemed overcast. *sigh*

I was extra busy at work, hence the later in the day post. As of next week my schedule gets turned topsy turvy and I'll do my usual September adjusting and probably do my worrying the week after I've figured out what I'm doing and where I need to be. I will also be back to having a bit more time to sit at my scrap table which I haven't done in ages! I'm looking forward to getting back into a more "normal" work week and less weekend work.

Last week I picked my top 3 for end of summer and almost fall. This week I want to draw your attention to one line in particular. K&Co. has always produced amazing lines of paper and embellishments, if you've never had a chance to work with them, the fall line is a great choice to start with.

Tim Coffey has created a fun fall line for K&Co. that is crisp and clean yet has a touch of country charm and whimsy.

Tim Coffey Double-Sided Specialty Paper Pad 12"X12" - Fall is seen on the left and will make a great starting point for your pages. Add to this some Tim Coffey Grand Adhesions - Fall Leaves, which next to the Specialty Silhouettes Die-Cut Paper Pack are my faves, and some Tim Coffey Adhesive Chipboard - Fall and you'll be paper crafting in fall style.

For next week's long weekend I've got family coming to visit and I'm hoping we'll be going apple picking so that I can take some pictures and make some great LO's. I'll be sure to share them when they're finished. Till then... happy scrapping.

Ça va chez vous?

Je ne vous ai pas fait de chronique la semaine passée car je préparais celle de cette semaine!

Je voulais vous parler des ATC (Artist Trading Cards), je vous passe l'historique de ce phénomène de plus en plus populaire, mais je voulais vous montrer quelques exemples fait maison.

Vous savez j'ai toujours un tas de retailles de papier lorsque je fais du scrap et faire ces petites cartes la en récupère une petite partie. (Vous savez comme je suis écolo!) De plus, c'est un super moyen d'essayer de nouvelles techniques sans utiliser une page entière.

Encore un avantage, le but d'une ATC étant de l'échanger; ça permet de donner un aperçu de votre style à des amis! (amies)

Bref c'est une technique qui devient de plus en plus en vogue et on en trouve même sur les pages de scrap.

Quand à moi, j'en ai déjà une trentaine et je ne suis pas prête de m'arrêter!

August Fridays - Summer's almost gone

I realise that summer is almost over when kids are getting their back to school supplies and new fall wardrobes. The time seemed to have flown by and only in the last week did it actually feel like summer had visited us. This was the second summer in a row where it just didn't feel right, lots of rain and not as much sun. *sigh* I can only hope for better next year!

August Fridays - and it finally feels like summer...

I can't believe it, finally. Only today has it really felt like summer, 30C (37C with the humidex) I'd get in a pool if I had one but I don't. I can tell the heat has hit my street because it's been, for the most part, quieter. I love it!

The forecast is for another week of this and I'm thrilled. Of course with the weather hitting higher temps. I do end up being more aware of what I'm doing, making sure I'm not overdoing the manual labour around the building, drinking enough fluids and staying out of direct sunlight so I don't get heat stroke. I may deal with it better than most I know, but I do take precautions just the same, to help me deal.

The weather made me think of a line that the store has had in stock for awhile but I haven't mentioned since the beginning of summer. Imaginisce Summer Cool line has tons of fun stuff to put together some great summer LO's, and with the weather taking a turn for the warmer now's the time to pick them up before it's too late. Once these babies are gone, they are gone for good!

J'espère que vous passez une superbe semaine! Enfin du soleil ici! Non mais il était temps je n'en pouvais plus de ce temps nuageux avec de la pluie!

Aujourd'hui je vais vous conter une petite histoire avant de vous montrer ma page.

Ma fille se nomme Aurélianne, elle a un déficit de croissance, développement et poids. Elle est très intelligente mais ne s'est pas développée aussi vite que les autres enfants de son âge.

Elle avait des rendez-vous de toutes sortes en physiothérapie, ergothérapie et diététique.

Elle va beaucoup mieux maintenant et personne ne saurait dire qu'elle a un retard quelconque.

Mais nous avons des exercices à lui faire faire chaque semaines.

Avez vous essayé de faire coopérer une enfant de presque 3 ans? IMPOSSIBLE!

Alors maman a pensé à une méthode très ingénieuse pour la pratiquer à sauter. Donc c'est l'histoire de ma page.

Ma petite fille qui apprend à sauter avec le jeu de la marelle!

Bravo ma puce!


J'ai utilisé les superbes papiers de la collection Marakech de Basic Grey, ils allaient tellement bien avec mes photos que je n'ai pas pu résister!

Une page toute simple mais combien entrainante!

Hello girls!

I hope you've spent a wonderful week! Finally the sun is here! It was about time I just couldn't stand the cloudy sky and pouring rain!

Today, I will tell you a little story before I show you my layout.

My daughter is named Aurélianne, she has a deficit of growth, development and weight. She is very intelligent but has not developed as quickly as other children of her age.

She has appointments of all kinds in physiotherapy, occupational therapy and dietetics.

She is much better now and we can't even tell that she has a delay whatsoever.

We have exercises to do each week.

Have you tried to work on a child who's almost 3 years old? IMPOSSIBLE, I tell ya!

So mom has figured out a very ingenious method for skipping practices. Here's the story of my page.

Cricut Tuesdays with Michelle

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Hope you are having a fabulous day!

I am so happy to say that I finally did a layout! Yippee :) For some of you following my blog (found in PDSS interactive community), you'll understand why it has taken so long. But now that I have my photos; I've been creating. Although difficult to start at first because it felt like I have made more cards than pages recently; with my handy dandy Cricut in tow I knew my creative process was rescued.

So this is my first page of many to be showcased here in upcoming Cricut Tuesdays posts. If you recall seeing another page of mine titled 'I'm NOT impressed, Dad' (which can be viewed in the PDSS Gallery); I am now so impressed that my Son has made a full turnaround.

It's August!

Wow! time flew.

And I hadn't realised till just this minute that yes it's Friday and I haven't figured out what Fridays in August will be.

I also have been so busy working out my weekend schedule helping out a friend (by watching his daughter from yesterday till Monday) at a science fiction literary convention that I hadn't planned anything. ACK! I guess I was too excited to meet a fave author of mine! Neil Gaiman is in town and I had a chance to meet him briefly yesterday. I'll be getting stuff signed today.

For those of you that might not think you recognise the name, let me tell you, you'd be surprised. He is the mastermind behind the movie Coraline! He originally wrote it at a young adult novel years ago and this past year it finally came to be on the big screen! I love that story.

I have made up a Coraline LO but don't have a pic of it on my computer to post at this moment. Maybe I'll get a pic with Neil sometime this weekend (which would be awesome) and then I'll be putting together a LO of my adventures. I got to meet up with a friend of mine who is a wonderful author and woman and I really don't get to see her enough. I'm behind on her books and will have to ask her what I'm missing.

Aujourd'hui je vous montre encore une page que j'ai fait il y a quelque temps. (À quand l'exclusivité du blog??? Peut-être la semaine prochaine!)

Vous savez quand Nini a reçu les papiers Porcelain de Basic Grey je me suis dit; ouff ils sont beau mais il me semble qu'ils sont fade. Je ne suis pas sure que je pourrais travailler avec. Mais bon en acheteuse compulsive que je suis il était certain que j'étais pour me les procurer quand même.

Quand je les ai reçus à la maison... WOW! Vraiment j'ai craqué pour! Ils sont géniaux! Ils m'ont tellement inspiré ça même pas de sens!

Donc pour ma première page avec cette collection, j'avais pour "mission" de faire une page sur un thème glacé. Bon... J'ai quelques "Mister Freeze" dans mon congélo mais je trouvais que ça ne ferait pas une page trop trop originale! Alors ce soir là, j'ai décidé de faire des Lait Frappé de mon cru.

Tu sais que tu es une scrap-addict quand tu fais des Milkshake juste pour prendre une photo en vue d'en faire une page de scrapbooking...

Bref voici ma page.

How are you?

I'll show you a layout that I've made a couple of week ago. (When we have some exclusivity? Maybee next week!)

You know, when Nini receive the paper line Porcelain of Basic Grey I've told myself, Outch! They are pretty but too insipid, how will I work with them? But, I'm a compulsive buyer so I've bought them.

When I receive them at home.. I was totally... WOW! I had a crush on them! They are amazing! They inspired me without a doubt!

So for my first layout with these papers, I had for "mission" to make a page with a cold theme. Ok, I had a couple of Mister Freeze in my freezer but It isn't really original. After dinner I've decided to make a couple a Milk Shake.

You know you're a scrap addict when you make milk shake to take a picture of them to finaly make a layout on It...

So.. This is my layout!

Making Memories New & Improved Slice Design Cards

Hey Everyone!

Just a quick note to let you-all know that the newest design cards for the Slice machine are now available to pre-order, click here to see them all!

These are new and improved compared to previous releases! They feature the new MS+ feature allowing you to mirror and shadow all of your die-cuts. Mirroring allows you to flip an image making embossing and debossing simple. Shadowing adds dimension by layering shadow die-cuts. The MS+ card also includes the Speed Boost™ upgrade making cutting even faster, woohoo!

I also have another layout to share with you today, boy am I on a roll! I created this layout using Fancy Pants That Boy Kraft Kuts Paper Collection, I used one sheet as my base. I inked the edges a bit with Prima Opaque Ink Pad which mean that it's very much like paint, you can find it here they come in sets with a stamp, ink pad and journaling sheets in various styles! I also used papers and stickers from Sassafras Lass Bungle Jungle Scrapbook Kit, these papers are awesome so fun to use and just loaded with bright colors and funky patterns!

I used a couple more embellies from K and Company's Citronelle Line, rub-ons from Prima's Mommy and Me Collection and a couple of flower and buttons from Making Memories. The wooden flower is from Kaiser Craft, I added that at the very end to sort of match the bare look of my base paper, hihihi :P

Cricut Tuesdays with Michelle

Hello Everyone!

Well finally Mother Nature has blessed us with a weekend that was filled with sun and warmth... No rain! And with Monday being a Civic Holiday here in my Province (it is not a national holiday in Canada); some folks were lucky to have the day off to enjoy another gorgeous day of sun and fun while others had to work, like my hubby.

And finally I nailed the project I have been working on for weeks! These cards were inspired by a well known manufacturer of dies (for professional courtesy I will not mention the name). I thought these can be recreated using the Cricut. The first part was easy - make a card. Where to position my focal point... Well lets say after many trials and a building scrap pile rising; these are my final results. Then a little stamping here and die-cutting there; it put the finishing touches these cards. I hope you enjoy them as I had fun learning along the way to craft them.

Another great way for topping brads using the i-Top tool

Happy Monday!

Today I have a second layout of my boy at the Botanical Garden! I think I'll be scrapping a ton since hubby took like a trillion of photos that day!

The adorable little robot and monster die cuts were created using Making Memories new Design Card for the Slice called "Big Kids" and it's loaded with girlie and boyish graphics! So far, it's my favorite DC of them all!

Also, the word "BREAK" were made with alphabet stickers which I topped onto my plain 28mm brads, another great way to top your brads! I'm telling ya topping brads is beginning to turn into an addiction *lol*!

Hey everyone!

How has your weekend been so far? It's a beautiful day here in Montreal, well too hot I might add... I just hate to go out when the weather gets like this, I prefer staying at home cool as a cucumber with the AC on *lol*

As promised I did say in my previous post that I would show you my latest creation using my all time favorite new tool... And yep you guessed it, it's the i-Top!

Below is a layout of my son, Davian who very much enjoyed his first time visit at the Botanical Garden... Well actually it was his second visit because the last time we went he was inside my belly!



For this project, I mostly used papers and embellies from Basic Grey's spankin' new June Bug collection, boy do I love this line! The colors and prints... mmm... so yummy!

If you notice the bracket shape in the middle well I painted and inked it using Heidi Swapp's Mega Masks, remember I included one in my last blog candy! Somebody's gonna be having loads of fun with these masks they are truly awesome!

Below are close up shots of my very own brads, I topped them using papers from the same line, how cool is that... To be honest I even forgot about opening my coordinating June Bug brads because all I could think about was "How will I top my next brad?!" *lol* :)

My hubby who's a real macho man adores the fact that I scrap to preserve our memories and also encourages and supports me with the online store but he never really had any interest in the products themselves until he saw me last night using my i-Top, he found the tool to be truly remarkable!

So if hubby likes it I bet you will too!
