Buttons....
I had too many of them so I separated the really old ones and kept the newer ones. So let me show you what I made with my old supplies.
I took an old Christmas ornament. (Yes Christmas! hihi) I removed the hanger from it.
I also cut the exceeding plastic with a pair of pliers. (Don't try this with a glass ornament!)
I'm lucky because the color of the ball was perfect for what I wanted to do with it. If It wasn't I could always paint it with Alcohol Ink or something.
I had a wooden stick in my drawer. (If you have one you can get 8 for a 1$ in the dollar store)!
Now let the fun begin. I took some pink and purple buttons and affixed them all around my ball.
Here's what it looks like when done.
For the bottom of my tree I would have liked to have a vase but didn't have one, so I decided to use a pail instead. To make my tree stand up I used a styrofoam ball and cut the top.
Push the wooden bar into the styrofoam until it stands on its own. All that's left is to embellish. For this I use some tiny glass pebbles , a ribbon and a metal butterfly.
I liked it but It was too "flat" for my tree, so I decided to fold it. Easy to tell but hard to do if you want a symetric result. Take a pen or something circular. Roll the butterfly around it. You'll get a butterfly who extends its wings!
You can embellish as much as you want! Here's mine!
I hope you'll like today's project! Enjoy! Hugs and kissesKim @ KLDezign
