Hi and welcome to another Fun Friday. No boxes, bags or books  or chocolate today. Sorry chocoholics!

I've used the cupcake wrapper template from The Cutting Cafe for this sweet little wrap up. It goes together in minutes and turns an ordinary cupcake into an extraordinary little gift to brighten someone's day... birthday or any day! I used my sewing machine to add stitching along the base and border of the cupcake wrapper and cut the scalloped edge with my good ol' scalloped scissors... remember those?

Easy, peasy.

Sending my Love Card

Here's another lovely Valentines card. The size for this card is 5 inches by 12 inches folded in half to create a 5 inch by 6 inch card. Use your border punch and punch the edge of only one side. This card opens at the bottom, the front edge is punched the back flap is left alone.

Using the brown ink, ink your edges. For this card I use three (3) different papers from the Fancy Pants Vintage Valentine Papers and trimmed out one of the cards that came with this paper package. Using the paper distresser I distressed all my paper edges. Adhered them like shown. Stapled some white tulle down one side, place my stick pins through one of the staples.

Paper Rose Totorial: I used two different size scalloped circles and punched out two of the same bigger circle and one smaller. Using my scissors and every two scalloped I cut in just so far all the way around. Do the same for the other scalloped circles. Punch a hole in the center of each circle. Roll the petals of each circle and layer them together like in photo. Using a brad to adhere to your card. Place the string of pearl or gems along the bottom of your card.

Merry Christmas Cards

Hi everyone!!!

I have created two cards, these cards were pretty quick to make. I used the Maya Road's Artistic Scroll as a template for both my cards. The first one was cut out of Kraft Cardstock. Using Fancy Pants Christmas Magic Paper Kit I selected my paper and trimmed out another piece using the same shape as my background insert. I also used a border sticker from the kit itself. I then stamped my sentiment across the top and punched out some snowflakes (3) placing them randomly.

My second card was made for a very very special lady. And I wanted her Christmas card to be unique. I used Crate Paper's Bliss Collection these kits come with amazing stickers and diecut elements. Using Martha Stewart's Doily Punch I punched out the edge, then overlapped the two different pieces of paper together. Lastly, I stamped a sentiment and punched out a snowflake and adhered it onto the card. To add more definition I doodled all around the edges.

Happy Holidays Card

It's that time of year again. Your card tutorial is

this lovely shape. Using the a Artistic Scroll template from the Maya Road

I cut the shape out of white cardstock and traced it onto

a folded sheet from Cosmo Cricket-Jolly by Golly Paper Pack.
Then I use another sheet of choice and cut a piece that measured out

5 1/8 inches long by 2 1/8 inches wide. Be sure to

ink your edges of all your pieces. Next I cut a piece measuring

7 inches long by 1 1/8 inches wide. Use your Fiskars

threading water punch and punch one edge. Be sure to ink

the edges. Using twine I criss crossed and tied a bow.

Adding finishing touches: I used a Heidi Swapp Ghost

Snowflake, a cardstock sticker from the Cosmo Cricket and mini

white brad with a Martha Stewart Snowflake punch.

Happy Halloween everyone!!! I hope you'll have a fun and safe time trick or treating with the wee ones or partying!!! :)

I was so inspired by the new stamps I received from my supplier so I just had to make a quick card with my favorite ones! Isn't the snowman adorable!!! He's a brand new release from Inkadinkadoo, I love the pen drawn look of it!!!

I haven't added any of the new stamps I received to the store but I did add new Cling Rubber Stamps from Stampendous and the Happy Holidays sentiment on my card comes from Inkadinkadoo's new set of Clear Mini Stamps, for a 1.99$ you get 6 super cute Holiday sentiments! I will also be getting the new November releases of CC. Designs stamps!!!

Birthday Bash Card

Hey peeps!

We've got great news we now carry CC. Designs Rubber Stamps YAY!!! We placed our first small order for the store to just test them out, and OMG... it's final they are amazing!!! You can see what's in store by clicking here and just so you know we've got more of these babies comin' in so keep checkin' back, okay?!! :)

For this card, I used their Pixie Pets - Birthday Bash set, aren't these pups soooo darn cute!!! Notice the frosting explosion, well I used something out of my norm... Have you ever heard of Dong-A Popcorn pens??!!! To me it's like a mix of Flower Soft and Fabric Paint jumbled up together but with a more.... erm... Popcorn kinda look and feel to it, you can find these awesome pens at my favorite pen store. I'm sure the white pen would make a great "snow-like" effect for winter and holiday themed cards!

I also managed to squeeze in some of the colors for another Copic Color challenge, #35 required us to use at least one of the three colors shown below!

My first entry for a challenge!

Hey everyone!

Hope you've all enjoyed a yummy and fun filled Turkey Day! (it's Thanksgiving Day here in Canada)! Today, I've got a quick post to share with you before I submit this card to a challenge I found while surfing the net.

If you're addicted to Copic markers then you gotta get you're mojo going with this awesome blog called Copic Color Challenge where there's a new challenge posted every Wednesday!

I just completed my very first challenge I never participated to any online challenges except for a few of my own over at the forum hihihi but I had to give this one a try!

Challenge #34 required us to use at least one of these three colors: YG95, R39 & C-4 (which i didn't have so I used C-3 instead).

I'm pretty pleased with the results since I'm still fairly new to the whole Copic marker thingy! I hope to keep up with their challenges and work on my coloring you know me busy as a bee, I can hardly find time to sit at my scrap table these days!

Clear Cards

Hi Everyone!! I want to show you a fun, unique card that is super easy to make and makes a big impact! I started with a transparency, which you can get at your local office supply store. You might even have some in your scrapping stash. Cut it to standard card size (5.5 x 4.25), score it and fold it. The fun thing with transparent cards is you can decorate the inside as well as the outside.

I took a piece of patterned paper from the We R Memory Keepers Whiteout Nonesense collection, cut it to fit and adhered it to the inside of my clear card.

I then used my trusty scissors to cut some really fun branch and bird embellies from the WRMK collection to embellish the outside.

I stamped my sentiment with white ink, which i'm still not super good at!! It's really neat how you can see the inside through the outside of the clear card. Fun!!

You can add a little journal spot inside when you are ready to send the card for your message. I hope you will give a transparent card a try!!

Trick or Treat Card

Hey everyone!

This weekend I got the oppurtunity to squeeze in some crafting time and made this super simple Halloweeney themed card. I used a couple of sheets from Basic Grey's awesome line of Designer Cardstock to be specific I used a mix of Crisp and Optimistic. They are so fun to work with and you gotta love its grungy look and double-sided goodness! The base sheet I used to make the card is from Fancy Pants The Daily Grind kit which I had just laying around.

Although' I would have loved to add more elements, like some extra embellies, but hubby said it would only make it look too cluttered *lol* :) Who knows he might be right, eh!

So stay tuned for more Halloween ideas! :) Next, I'm thinking... Treat Bags *wink, wink*...

Feel Better Soon Card

Good day to you all! We are going to create a 'Feel Better Soon' type card.
First you'll need a 5 inch by 10 inch cardstock of choice. Fold in half and ink the edges. You will need a piece of patterned paper of choice as well, measuring 4 1/2 inches by 4 1/2 inches and ink its edges as well.

Second you will cut another patterned paper of your choice measuring out to be 1 1/4 inches by 4 3/4 inches. Using the Martha Stewart Doily Border Punch punch one edge and ink all edges. Place 1/2 inch from the fold of your card. Cut out a 3 inch circles and ink edge. Grab some bling of choice and place on the lower part of your circle like shown.

Third grab three different size flowers and layer them and attach with mini brad to the lower part of your circle. Stamp your sentiment of choice as well on the circle. Now you have a lovely looking card for that special someone in your life.

Pucker Up Buttercup!

I just LOVE Basic Grey's Lemonade Collection! I created this little card using one patterned paper and the element stickers from the pack. This was so simple and quick to put together!!!

Directions:

1. Take a piece of cardstock (I used pink) and cut it to 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 in size. Take your Basic Grey patterned paper of choice and cut it to 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 in size. If you want, use a tool or your fingernail to distress the edges of the paper as I have. Take another piece of cardstock (white) and cut it to 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 in size.

2. Next, adhere your patterned paper to the pink cardstock and the white to your patterned paper. Before I glued down my patterned paper I used my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on my pink cardstock. I also tore the edge of the white cardstock.

3. After everything is adhered, take your element stickers and place them on your card as I have. I made the "fake" stitches using a black Sharpie ink pen. I also added the little black dots to the flower stem.

Cricut Tuesdays with Michelle

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

This week I am sharing a card project with two stories behind it. I am a novice stamper and discovered Alcohol Inks. Now to some of you these inks are not new but they were to me as I am sure to many others as well.

At first the pretty bottles and tools were unused for a couple of weeks after my purchase. In fact I asked another Community Member if we could swap because as time passed I thought I was in over my head!

I am a die-cutter, how on earth can I incorporate alcohol inks into my already established technique style?

What purpose did these tools serve me in my crafting world?

I have cardstock and patterned paper, some stamps, ink pads and markers... Isn't that enough?

Questions like those stirred in my head for days. Then my 'a-ha' moment arrived and this is what I created. And I thank that Community Member who did not swap with me; it was truly a blessing in disguise ;)

Something you may not know about me but will now is that I am a cardstock hoarder. I keep every possible inch that my smallest punch will fit in because you never know, right?

As for patterned paper, I let go of that more easily because it changes all the time. Anyhow before I digress any further, this is my experience with glossy cardstock. This was my 1st time using that type of cardstock and I wanted to use as little as possible yet get the shape & size I desired.

Needless to say after 4 tries, nothing worked. So I tried again for the 5th time and it still didn't work; my sizing was off! I even walked away from my scrap area to take a breather as I was getting so frustrated. Then it occurred to me to cut the shape in half and use the 'workable' half onto my card.

So as you can see that I was able to incorporate alcohol inks onto my project by creating a unique color palette to choose a die-cut shape from. Looking at a different angle of my die cut, I was able to create a custom die-cut within its own shape. Then mixing & matching cardstock with patterned paper; adding some ribbon and a sentiment... Voila c'est fini, my card creation.

Although my card design is simple, I was able to add interest, texture and color to create a homemade card like all other homemade cards to be unique and pretty!

OH BOY!!!!

Ok, so on the forum I recently read a comment about someone having a hard time with boy layouts. I also have this problem....I have a daughter and I am use to ribbons, flowers, you know foo foo girly stuff!!! So I made this card for my nephews birthday (with no girly stuff on it).

I used the Cosmo Cricket Snorkel line, which you can grab over at the Posh Store, along with many other fabulous papers that work GREAT for boy layouts! The colors in this line of paper remind me of boy colors, and I used the submarines that were on one of the pattern paper to add some boy flare to it!!!

Hope this helps in the boy creativity! Don't forget to grab the other FABULOUS lines of paper over at the store and don't forget to upload your boy layouts to the gallery for us all to see!!

Hey everyone! Hope you've had a wonderful day!

Today is my youngest brother's birthday! Frank and I, decided to get him the Wii Fit since he has always wanted one!!! I also made him a birthday card, which he really adored! I was so happy because it was my first "paper piecing" creation *lol* :)

I had been contemplating for a long time in wether I should or not get myself a Cricut. Instead, after much research and thinking I settled for Quickutz Silhouette SD machine!!! Which I am now totally in love with!!!

For this project I did things a little bit out of the norm *lol* I couldn't imagine myself cutting and re-cutting again and again the same shape while using 5 to 6 different colored cardstock and then piecing them up together it just seemed like an endless task for me! Unless, I'm getting it all wrong?! You would tell me right, as I'm still quite new to this... :)

Anyways, instead I went into my Quickutz library and selected the froggy images seen on my card and cut them only once on a sheet of white Prism cardstock. I then colored each piece using my Copic markers! I am quite pleased at the results especially since it almost looks like I colored in stamps instead! I found the whole coloring part a breeze especially for an impatient person like myself who doesn't own many solid colored cardstock *lol*...

Happy Birthday Card

I'm not sure about ya'all but I'm always in need of birthday cards and thought I would go towards that route for today's project so I hope you'll enjoy this little "How To" :)

1) Take a journaling sheet from your MM journaling book and trace it onto a folded sheet of cardstock. Be sure you have the fold at the top. Trim out. Ink the edges with black. Next take one sheet of your choice, cut a piece that measures about 1.5 inches by 7.5 inches. Use the threading water punch and punch out both sides and ink. Adhere it through the middle of your card. Trim the excess off so that it matches the shape of your card. Ink the edges.

2) Cut a 4.5 inch circle out and stamp your sentiment around the circle. Ink the edges of your circle. Next you will need a square in the size of 3.5 inches by 3.5 inches. Ink its edges. Adhere to the center of your card. Then adhere your circle sentiment like shown below. Place your swirls in the center of your circle.

3) Next, using another Birthday sentiment adhere it in the lower right hand corner like shown below. Be sure to ink the edges first. Using three random size circles cut by hand. Wad them up to distress them and then ink. Stitch them down using a cotton thread and needle, and Voila!

Another Cricut Tuesday Moment

Hi Again Everyone!

No it is not Tuesday of next week and yes you may have already read my recent post for this week. Though today I am really excited to share with you a card I created being inspired by the Joy Fold Card style and the Gift Explosion Box. Now if you know the name of this card style please let me know! Otherwise, I have dubbed it as my 5-sided card (not very creative, I know) or if you can think of a really cute label, please let me know!

Here are the photos below:

To create this card you will need:

• 1- 12 x 12 piece of cardstock (preferably of at least 80lb weight)


• 1 - 6 x 12 piece of cardstock in an alternate color to compliment the above cardstock color


• 1 - 6 x 12 piece of cardstock in another alternate color to compliment the other 6 x 12 piece of cardstock


• Embellishments and/or stamps as desired.

How to assemble:

1. Score the 12 x12 cardstock @ the 4" increment then @ the 8" increment.


2. Turn your cardstock 90 degrees and repeat the same score increments. You will now have 9 scored boxes equalling 4" squares each.


3. Cut along each corner of the cardstock, removing only 1-3" square. As a result, you will have created a plus sign shape (see below).


4. Fold in all your sides. Do not worry that the flaps do not lay flat as these will be trimmed and scored to allow the card to lay flat when completed.


5. Determine your card front, that will be side 1. All other sides will be 2nd to your 4th with the 5th side being the actual interior of the card.


6. For my sample I made my card open left to right then top to bottom (refer back to photos). There are no wrong ways to sequence your folds, in fact this is the fun part for the recipient to figure out (or maybe you if you are lucky to see their face).


7. To ensure each side lays flat once the card has been completed you will need to trim off 1/8" off sides 2, 3 and 4.


8. Once all sides have been trimmed, you will need to score the same above sides 1/8" in from the original score lines created in step #2. Once all those score lines are created, fold them in crisp. You will now find that your card will fold neatly and stay flat.


9. Sides 1 through 4 will measure 3-3/4 x 4".


10. Decorate and embellish your layering mats as desired leaving your card interior for your message.

• Because I chose to border punch sides #1 and #3 my matting instructions are for below. If you choose not to border punch you can create your background/main mat @ 3-1/2" x 3-3/4" with your layering mat @ 3-1/4" x 3-1/2".


• If you have chosen to use a border punch these are your matting instructions: With your 2-6 x 12 sheets of cardstock, create mats for your photos, images, journalling, etc... Each main or background mat will measure 3 x 3-3/4" and the layering mat @ 2-3/4 x 3-1/2".


• Please note: If you choose to add thicker embellishments, you will need to increase your score lines from step #7 by 1/8" and alter your background and layering mats accordingly.

A Lovely Card for a Lovely Sister

Hi everyone,

my name is Dawn first I'd like to thank Nini for giving me the opportunity to work on her lovely Design Team, I will be specializing in cardmaking!

Now onto my first card, which I made for one of my sisters. I used a few sheets of lovely patterned papers from Basic Grey's Eva Collection which can be found right over at Posh Design Scrapbook Store. I love all things Basic Grey and these paper are extremely versatile, and easy peasy to work with because they are so pretty!

Supplies used:

Bling Bazzill 'Cream' Cardstock
2 Sheets from Basic Grey's 'Eva' Collection
Pink and Black Inks
Martha Stewart Doily and Leaf Punches
Prima Say it in Crystals Black Oval Frame
Prima Flowers
Mini White Brads
Chipboard Shape (heart)

1) Using a cardstock sheet cut out a piece that is 5 inches wide by 12 inches long. Fold in half making a 5 inch by 6 inch card base. Ink all the edges of the cardstock as you like. Cut a piece from a sheet of patterned papers of your choice, I used Basic Grey's Eva paper and that should be about 4 inches long by 2 1/2 inches wide and punch the out the edge of one side. Ink the edges with your ink. Next, cut another piece of printed paper which should measures 2 inches by 2 1/2 inches and ink the edges.

Place your piece as shown below:

2) Place your bling frame slightly off and then adhere the chipboard heart shape with some pop dots.


3) Next embellish your card as you wish, I used a leaf punch but you can use just about anything, I added some flowers, brads and a sentiments!

J'ai remarqué que nous avons plusieurs sortes de "scrappeuses" parmi nous! Alors je vous propose un sketch avec 3 façons de le réaliser, vous aurez donc quelques techniques pour approfondir ou embellir vos pages, cartes, ATC ou autres!

Alors cette semaine je vous ai fait un sketch très simple de carte.

Hey everyone!

This is my first post with the new DT crew members! So, I have noticed that we have several kinds of "Scrappers" among us! So I've proposed a sketch with 3 ways to achieve it, so you have some techniques to deepen or embellish your pages, cards, ATC and other projects!

So this week I've created a simple card sketch for you.


Alors commençons; nous avons une carte avec 2 rubans, 3 ou 4 sortes de papiers différents et un "sentiment".

Voici la première version de la carte, de type très "simple and clean", j'ai respecté à la lettre le sketch sans rien ajouter de plus. La carte reste jolie mais sans plus, elle est plutôt monochrome et manque un peu de punch. De plus comme les papiers sont de la même collection (LilyKate, Basic Grey) il est un peu difficile de voir la différence entre les papiers.

So let's begin, we have a card with 2 ribbons, 3 or 4 different kind of papers and a sentiment.

Here is my first version of the card, like most "clean and simple," I re-did the sketch on the dot without adding anything more to it. The card is nice but nothing more, it is rather monochrome and lacks a little punch! Furthermore, as the papers are of the same collection (LilyKate from Basic Grey) it's a little difficult to see the difference between the papers.


Pour la deuxième étape j'ai décidé d'encrer mes papiers, une étape toute simple mais qui permet souvent de donner un aspect complétement différents aux papiers, photos ou autres. Alors pour cet carte j'ai vraiment encré généreusement en ne fesant pas trop attention. Ma carte est maintenant plus intéressante, elle a plus de profondeur et il est plus facile de distinguer les papiers les uns des autres.

For the second step I decided to ink my papers, a simple step but can often give a completely different look to your papers, photos or any other thing. So for this card I really generously inked the edges and being carefree. My card is now more interesting, it has more depth and it is easier to distinguish the paper from each other.


Pour la dernière étape j'ai décidé de travailler ma carte, de manière usée. Lorsqu'on parle de respecter un sketch de manière générale on parle souvent qu'il faut reconnaitre le modèle de base. Même si vous ajouter ou enlever certains éléments ce n'est pas la fin du monde. Ici j'ai décider d'ajouter une feuille et une fleur. De plus j'ai décidé de travailler les cotés de mes papiers de manière à ce qu'ils soient usés, voire déchirés. Et finalement j'ai décidé de surélever le mot Félicitations avec des 3d dots pour donner de la dimension à ma carte.

For the last step I decided to work my card, to make it seem worn out. When we talk about respecting a sketch it usually means that you're able to recognize the original design of the sketch. Even if you add or remove certain elements it's not the end of the world. Here I decide to add a leaf and a flower. Also, I decided to work the sides of my papers so that they are worn and torn. Finally, I decided to raise the word "Congratulations" with 3D dots to give dimension to my card.



Ce n'est pas la carte du siècle, elle ne gagnera pas de prix en beauté et ne sera pas publiés dans les plus grands magazines. Mais regardez votre première étape face à votre dernière et vous verrez le potentiel que vous avez au bout de vos doigts!

Hello Everyone!

Well finally Mother Nature has blessed us with a weekend that was filled with sun and warmth... No rain! And with Monday being a Civic Holiday here in my Province (it is not a national holiday in Canada); some folks were lucky to have the day off to enjoy another gorgeous day of sun and fun while others had to work, like my hubby.

And finally I nailed the project I have been working on for weeks! These cards were inspired by a well known manufacturer of dies (for professional courtesy I will not mention the name). I thought these can be recreated using the Cricut. The first part was easy - make a card. Where to position my focal point... Well lets say after many trials and a building scrap pile rising; these are my final results. Then a little stamping here and die-cutting there; it put the finishing touches these cards. I hope you enjoy them as I had fun learning along the way to craft them.

Cricut Tuesdays with Michelle

Hi Everyone and Happy Tuesday!

Last week I was 'stuck' on a current project that to this day I am still working on. It's a card related project that has me inspired to re-create and figure out (still figuring it out) how to effectively and easily make these types of cards using your Cricut. So stay tuned...

Since I felt stuck, I needed a 'push' to create some fabulous projects for this week's blog post. Then came along Posh Designs' Color Inspiration Challenge #4. So I took this opportunity to build up my card stash and had tons of incorporating the Graphically Speaking cartridge and Little Yellow Bicycle Stamp Sets 'Baby Boy & Baby Girl Safari'. As a result, 5 cards were created but this time I wanted to keep the theme the same while use the same elements (only 'changed' 3 of the cards), can you notice?

I've been reading from members that this time of year people are less scrappin' and more enjoyin' summer weather. I hope you are too, I know I am. But when it is time to get their scrappin' mojo movin', they feel 'stuck' as well. As you can see here I can relate. So jump on over to the Posh Challenges forum in the Interactive Community Site.
