Une très jolie page que j'aime beaucoup! Avec des couleurs qui ne sont pas souvent employées pour Noël! Avec la collection Snow Day de Crate Paper. Donc ma page se nomme merci Père Noel.

A nice layout, I really like It! With some unsual colors for Christmas times. With the Crate Paper collection; Snow Day. So my layout is called; Merci Père Noël (Thanks Santa!)

Her Prince Layout

Well it's been a very long time since I created a layout. For this layout I used Fancy Pants Vintage Valentine Papers, twine, Prima Heather Flowers, Prima Pearl Swirl Bling, Magic Mesh, Bazzill Tiny Brads and American Crafts Thickers stickers. My photo's are the sizes of a 5 inch by 7 inch and the two (2) wallets with edges sanded for a distress look. Tools I used are a paper distresser, sewing machine and heavy duty needle.

Using the sewing machine I stitched by bigger photo down. Used the heavy duty needle and twine and added some more stitching. Paper distresser I used around the layout edges and around each piece of paper. To make this shape I used one of the Die Cut sheets that came in the paper package and traced it onto another sheet of paper in the package.

Lots of Layers!

I love using lots of layers on my layouts. Layering paper, embellishments, and titles is a great way to add some texture and dimension to your layout. Here is one example of layering lots of fun patterned paper.

I punched circles of cardstock and patterned paper, crumbled them up, inked them and layered them to make these fun flowers!

I also layered some stick pins behind a Cricut cut butterfly to create a fun coordinating embellishment.

Christmas Papers For Everyday Photos

I love using holiday paper for my pictures that are from everyday moments! The new Basic Grey Collection Eskimo Kisses was a perfect fit for this picture of my niece Johanna!

I used 2 different patterned papers, Glazed Apple and Caroling. I cut the Caroling paper into two 1 1/2 in. X 2 1/2 pieces. I cut the Glazed Apple into one 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 in. piece. I used my fingernail to distress the edges of the patterned papers.

I also used the element stickers from the collection pack. I cut the long border strip stickers and placed them over my patterned papers and at the bottom of my picture.

For the title, I used the super cute American Crafts Tinsel Thickers. I also used Basic Grey's Lemonade Collection Alphabet Stickers.

I added some stitching and used my Sharpie pen to outline the patterned papers and the big flower.

Cricut Tuesdays with Michelle

Happy Tuesday to you!

Ever have those photos where it's not perfect... Not being centred, eyes closed, blurry image, etc... Well before I scrapbooked, I would have thought these types of photos were 'not good' enough to keep nevermind to scrapbook. But when I came across this photo with my Son, SIL and myself playing in the sand - I could not resist, not making a layout. This page was created weeks ago and relates perfectly to another DT's post about focusing on subject and placing emphasis on that subject (in this case, I used an expression - mind the pun). Here's the layout below.

My hope is to have inspired you to look at a different angles when you scrapbook that 'non-perfect' photo or have other people's memories to recall with photos; scrapbook them because those types of pages can be the best stories to tell.

Indian Summer and Back to School

When I think of Indian Summer I remember those first few weeks back to school. I always wanted to wear my new fall clothes to start of a new year of school. The only problem was that in New York, we got a very warm indian summer during September. So the first day or two I would sweat in my new clothes LOL! before going back to summer clothes for a couple of weeks.

So when I saw Basic Grey's Indian Summer line I immediately thought--Back to School! My little girl has been in pre-school for the past 2 years, but this year she is starting Pre-K. She was very excited about her new classroom and starting to learn some skills to prepare her for kindergarten next year. So, I loved using these rich fall papers for this back to school layout to help symbolize this real start of her education.

Basic Grey's Indian Summer line contains many options. Gorgeous, rich patterned papers, cardstock letters and themed stickers as well as my new favorite-- Woolies! These layered felt embellishments are just amazing. Lots of sweet details and perfectly coordinating colors and a nice sticky pop dot to adhere it without fighting with your own adhesive!

This line would look great with lots of fall themed layouts--apple picking, pumpkin patches, playing in leaves etc, but for me, the memory was complete for my back to school theme! Challenge Time!!!!!

For all of you sketch and challenge lovers....this is for you. Be sure to check out the Posh forum and get busy creating all of the FABULOUS sketches you will find there. For this layout I picked challenge #14.

My pictures are kind of dark which was just perfect for this bright, fun paper. I used Basic Grey's June Bug collection. All of the bright colors worked GREAT with this layout. I also used Kaiser fozz felt across the bottom. This was the first time i've ever used the felt.....LOVE IT!!!!

So your project for the week is to grab some scrappin' must haves over at the Posh Store, pick your challenge, put on your comfortable sweats, and get scrappin!!!

Mixing Up Sassafras

The great thing about companies like Sassafras is the way their lines can cross over. In this layout I used papers from Monstrocity and Sweet Marmalade.

And I dug into my Sassafras stash and pulled out some letter stickers, flowers and die cuts. Since Sassafras tends to use bright colors in all their recent lines, all these pieces fit together.

I used a piece of patterned paper from Sweet Marmalade as my background, set down my photos and began working on my title.

I was having trouble making the "LIL" letters stand out enough to be readable so I layered two colors making the yellow look like a drop shadow. I left enough room between each letter to include three of the little Sassafras monster felties. I wanted to make them look like they were climbing on the letters. Don't you just love their little googly eyes? And the fact that they are preassembled so you aren't the one trying to glue down tiny little googly eyes LOL!

I cut out some monsters from another piece of patterned paper from the Monstrocity collection to border the photos. And I used a card for the journaling, accented with a flower.

Finally I used one of their die cut blossoms. I added the stitching and polka dot ribbon to add some extra dimension.

Sassafras has been one of my favorite manufacturers for a while now and these new lines do not dissapoint. They are super versatile in creating fun and playful layouts. There is plenty of Sassafras goodness on to order in store, so go check out Monstrosity and Sweet Marmalade for your next fun project!

Hi girls how are you?

Sorry to miss last week's post I was sick, yes again! I made a few layout in the last weeks but I'll show you one of my favorites! I made it for a challenge which was to use an expression as a title. I chose to write about this because some people do ask me;

How do I choose a title for my layout? So my answer is, you have lots of possibilities.

First, you can choose a simple title; the name of the person, the place, or even the color found on the picture. Simple, clean and really basic. Secondly, you can choose an expression, slogan or even lyrics of a song. You can even use an onomatopoeia, like wow, hummm or mmm! You can also use the first two or three words of your journaling to incite others to read the rest of your story.

So these are just a few of my ideas to make great titles! Who can tell me which technique I used to make my title for this layout?

Just a Peek.....

Giving gifts is so fun for me!!! What's even better is when you give a gift that keeps on giving!

We bought our daughter a new computer ( gift #1 ). She has a cat who just loves boxes....well she cut a hole in the box for the cat to go in and out of ( gift #2 cat toy!). Luis was over at our house this weekend and he decided to play in the box as well. He took in a pillow and just relaxed in there ( gift # 3 )!!!

I better put cardboard boxes on my christmas gift list for this year, I think....

So I ended up with an awesome picture of Luis in the box, off I went and checked out my stash of paper!!! I just loooove Cosmo Cricket's paper. Especially, the Snorkel line it's just FABULOUS!

It has a great variety of colors which makes it easy to use with and for anything you wish. Along with the pattern papers it has a great 12x12 sheet of elements. The elements allow you to cut them out and use them anywhere on your cards or layouts as extra embelishments. There is also a fun border page which you can do the same thing with. The border page has the best sayings on it. I used one at the bottom of my page. The saying was just tooooo cute!!!

Wether you use Cosmo Cricket's line as squares, circles, or stripes it just rocks!!! Make sure you stop by the Posh store and check out all of the Cosmo Crickets lines. While you're there don't forget to grab some ribbons and rub-ons to help accent it all!

Cricut Tuesdays with Michelle

Hi everyone and welcome to another fun edition of Cricut Tuesdays with me!

The summer season has been an erratic one to say the least in my part of the country. Between a wet July and a mediocre August; there has not been alot of the hot, hot weather with sunny skies and warm breezes. But that does not mean I did not get camera happy and recorded what is a simple task for most of us ~ lawn care. To be honest, it is a boring task and I do not care to think nor do much with our lawn but my Husband and Son; that's a different story and here it is captured on a recent scrapbooking page below:

When creating this layout I had the title already in mind but wanted a fresh look with the font. Don't get me wrong... I love all my Cricut font cartridges. In fact when I get a new cartridge home; I play and create something from that cartridge whether it be a layout or card. That was the case here with my new Hanna Montana cartridge. Now you may have heard of this cartridge and thought 'oh geez'. But in this case, you really can't judge a cartridge by it name or cover. The Hanna Montana cartridge is chock full of fun images and the fonts are really fantastic. I hope my scrapbook page has inspired you to take a closer look at the cartridge (and no, Provo Craft or Disney did not pay me to say all these things). Until next week, Happy Crafting!

It's A Monstrosity!!!

First of all, I just want to say a HUGE thanks to Nini for choosing me as a new Design Team Member!!! I'm so excited! Woohoo! Everyone is super sweet and I can't wait to work with all the lucky gals!

I just *love* the new Sassafras Lass Monstrosities collection! It is so funky - and that is right up my alley! Check out the collection kit that is available for preorder over at the Posh store!

This layout is about my husband's addiction to Animal Crossing. It is a video game for the Wii and let me tell you, it is quite addicting! I have found myself playing for hours upon hours! But Scott - he could go 24/7 playing it!

Directions on how to make this layout:

Start with a 12x12 piece of cardstock (I used Bazzill Basics White Textured) and grab 1 sheet of Super Stack and one sheet of Framed from your Sassafras kit.

Cut 2 different blocks from your Super Stack paper. One 4 1/2 x 2 inch piece and one 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece.

Take your Framed paper and cut the bottom (with the jagged edge) into 2 strips. 4 1/2 x 1/2 inch and 4 x 1/2 inch. I also used a Hambly Studio Screen Print.

I cut the overlay into a 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 square. Next, I sprayed my Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist (Turquoise Blue) on the white cardstock.

I put the bottle quite a few inches away from the cardstock so it would just lightly mist it.

Glue all of your patterned papers down (including the screen print) just like I have in the picture.

Glue down your 4x6 picture on top of the screen print.

I used the Sweet Treats stickers to embellish my page.

I then added my title using Doodlebug & Jenni Bowlin letter stickers.

I also added a journaling spot sticker from American Crafts.

Splish Splashin' fun with Cosmo Crickets Snorkle

Now that summer is winding down and the kids are getting back to school I am sure that everyone has tons of fun summer photos waiting to be scrapped!

Even though we didn't vacation this year we participated in a bunch of fun summer activities, many of which involved water! So here is a layout I did of my kids playing in a splash pad at an outdoor mall in our neighborhood.

The Cosmo Cricket Snorkle line is perfect for these and many other fun filled summer activity photos.

I used a bunch of goodies from chipboard embellishments, yummy ribbons, to punching out circles from various sheets of patterned papers to make my very own scalloped border!

As you can see I was able to include 3 photos on a single 12x12 page. I mainly print 4x6 photos and the vertical ones are perfect to line up across a 12x12 layout giving you a series of action shots.

So whether you had a staycation or a vacation this year, break out some Cosmo Cricket Snorkel and have some fun!

Hi everyone!

This is my first layout for Posh Designs and I'm so excited to be a part of their Design Team!!! I took a picture of various scrappy supplies you can find at the store and I just had to scrapbook it!!!

I just used few of the many awesome products you can get your scrappy hands on at Posh Designs Scrapbook Store, remember when a product is sold out you can always contact Nini and she'll do her best to accommodate you!

For this layout I just had to play with Basic Grey's fabulous patterned papers from their yummy June Bug line. Each double-sided sheet is loaded with fun motifs and bright color combinations, perfect for any if not all your summer photos that haven't been scrapbooked yet!!!

This line is amazing and I urge you to check it out, so be sure to grab yourself some papers, stickers and embellies and start scrapping away those summer memories! Hope to see some of your wonderful creations over at the gallery!

Cricut Tuesdays with Michelle

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

If you've seen my layouts and/or are aware of my creative style; you may know that I love to journal. Some of my favorite embellishments are journalling spots/tags. But this week I created a layout about our past celebrations on Canada Day. As you can see from the layout below I journalled to my hearts content but this time I used a shaped image as my journalling spot.

Being patriotic, my layout is to resemble the Canadian flag as the maple leaf as my journalling spot. Pretty nifty eh?

With many of you having some or maybe all of the shapes cartridges Cricut has developed, look at them in a different light beyond just an embellishment or accent to your projects. Many of shapes contained in these little gems can be your next journalling spot and provide that voila touch to your layouts. Have fun exploring your shapes cartridges and I hope to see some of your work inspired from this layout.

J'espère que vous passez une superbe semaine! Enfin du soleil ici! Non mais il était temps je n'en pouvais plus de ce temps nuageux avec de la pluie!

Aujourd'hui je vais vous conter une petite histoire avant de vous montrer ma page.

Ma fille se nomme Aurélianne, elle a un déficit de croissance, développement et poids. Elle est très intelligente mais ne s'est pas développée aussi vite que les autres enfants de son âge.

Elle avait des rendez-vous de toutes sortes en physiothérapie, ergothérapie et diététique.

Elle va beaucoup mieux maintenant et personne ne saurait dire qu'elle a un retard quelconque.

Mais nous avons des exercices à lui faire faire chaque semaines.

Avez vous essayé de faire coopérer une enfant de presque 3 ans? IMPOSSIBLE!

Alors maman a pensé à une méthode très ingénieuse pour la pratiquer à sauter. Donc c'est l'histoire de ma page.

Ma petite fille qui apprend à sauter avec le jeu de la marelle!

Bravo ma puce!


J'ai utilisé les superbes papiers de la collection Marakech de Basic Grey, ils allaient tellement bien avec mes photos que je n'ai pas pu résister!

Une page toute simple mais combien entrainante!

Hello girls!

I hope you've spent a wonderful week! Finally the sun is here! It was about time I just couldn't stand the cloudy sky and pouring rain!

Today, I will tell you a little story before I show you my layout.

My daughter is named Aurélianne, she has a deficit of growth, development and weight. She is very intelligent but has not developed as quickly as other children of her age.

She has appointments of all kinds in physiotherapy, occupational therapy and dietetics.

She is much better now and we can't even tell that she has a delay whatsoever.

We have exercises to do each week.

Have you tried to work on a child who's almost 3 years old? IMPOSSIBLE, I tell ya!

So mom has figured out a very ingenious method for skipping practices. Here's the story of my page.

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Hope you are having a fabulous day!

I am so happy to say that I finally did a layout! Yippee :) For some of you following my blog (found in PDSS interactive community), you'll understand why it has taken so long. But now that I have my photos; I've been creating. Although difficult to start at first because it felt like I have made more cards than pages recently; with my handy dandy Cricut in tow I knew my creative process was rescued.

So this is my first page of many to be showcased here in upcoming Cricut Tuesdays posts. If you recall seeing another page of mine titled 'I'm NOT impressed, Dad' (which can be viewed in the PDSS Gallery); I am now so impressed that my Son has made a full turnaround.

Aujourd'hui je vous montre encore une page que j'ai fait il y a quelque temps. (À quand l'exclusivité du blog??? Peut-être la semaine prochaine!)

Vous savez quand Nini a reçu les papiers Porcelain de Basic Grey je me suis dit; ouff ils sont beau mais il me semble qu'ils sont fade. Je ne suis pas sure que je pourrais travailler avec. Mais bon en acheteuse compulsive que je suis il était certain que j'étais pour me les procurer quand même.

Quand je les ai reçus à la maison... WOW! Vraiment j'ai craqué pour! Ils sont géniaux! Ils m'ont tellement inspiré ça même pas de sens!

Donc pour ma première page avec cette collection, j'avais pour "mission" de faire une page sur un thème glacé. Bon... J'ai quelques "Mister Freeze" dans mon congélo mais je trouvais que ça ne ferait pas une page trop trop originale! Alors ce soir là, j'ai décidé de faire des Lait Frappé de mon cru.

Tu sais que tu es une scrap-addict quand tu fais des Milkshake juste pour prendre une photo en vue d'en faire une page de scrapbooking...

Bref voici ma page.

How are you?

I'll show you a layout that I've made a couple of week ago. (When we have some exclusivity? Maybee next week!)

You know, when Nini receive the paper line Porcelain of Basic Grey I've told myself, Outch! They are pretty but too insipid, how will I work with them? But, I'm a compulsive buyer so I've bought them.

When I receive them at home.. I was totally... WOW! I had a crush on them! They are amazing! They inspired me without a doubt!

So for my first layout with these papers, I had for "mission" to make a page with a cold theme. Ok, I had a couple of Mister Freeze in my freezer but It isn't really original. After dinner I've decided to make a couple a Milk Shake.

You know you're a scrap addict when you make milk shake to take a picture of them to finaly make a layout on It...

So.. This is my layout!

Another great way for topping brads using the i-Top tool

Happy Monday!

Today I have a second layout of my boy at the Botanical Garden! I think I'll be scrapping a ton since hubby took like a trillion of photos that day!

The adorable little robot and monster die cuts were created using Making Memories new Design Card for the Slice called "Big Kids" and it's loaded with girlie and boyish graphics! So far, it's my favorite DC of them all!

Also, the word "BREAK" were made with alphabet stickers which I topped onto my plain 28mm brads, another great way to top your brads! I'm telling ya topping brads is beginning to turn into an addiction *lol*!

Hey everyone!

How has your weekend been so far? It's a beautiful day here in Montreal, well too hot I might add... I just hate to go out when the weather gets like this, I prefer staying at home cool as a cucumber with the AC on *lol*

As promised I did say in my previous post that I would show you my latest creation using my all time favorite new tool... And yep you guessed it, it's the i-Top!

Below is a layout of my son, Davian who very much enjoyed his first time visit at the Botanical Garden... Well actually it was his second visit because the last time we went he was inside my belly!



For this project, I mostly used papers and embellies from Basic Grey's spankin' new June Bug collection, boy do I love this line! The colors and prints... mmm... so yummy!

If you notice the bracket shape in the middle well I painted and inked it using Heidi Swapp's Mega Masks, remember I included one in my last blog candy! Somebody's gonna be having loads of fun with these masks they are truly awesome!

Below are close up shots of my very own brads, I topped them using papers from the same line, how cool is that... To be honest I even forgot about opening my coordinating June Bug brads because all I could think about was "How will I top my next brad?!" *lol* :)

My hubby who's a real macho man adores the fact that I scrap to preserve our memories and also encourages and supports me with the online store but he never really had any interest in the products themselves until he saw me last night using my i-Top, he found the tool to be truly remarkable!

So if hubby likes it I bet you will too!
