You really are in for a treat with this line. Everything about it is downright spooktacular! It's not just about great looking papers, ribbons and rub-ons. They really thought this line through, right down to the paper names and the bit where they tell you it's acid and lignin free!
I decided for my layout to use the Macabre and Nevermore papers. The names alone made me want to use them and the patterns are to die for! My challenge for this layout was to only use items from the Haunted line. I'm one of those scrappers, who I'm sure like many, use what's on hand and I've been known to mix it up quite a bit. Suprisingly I've managed to pair up items from very different lines and seasons and make it work. This time around, no mixing for me!
Here you'll see some of the great rub-ons in this line. I was a bit skeptical about the white ones but having used a black patterned paper it turned out GREAT! The cobweb in the top left corner felt like it was part of the pattern on the paper as opposed to being put there afterwards.
Even using the rub-ons on lighter coloured paper worked well, here
you can see the cobweb on a light wood patterned paper.
I used one of the strip tease strips. They look great. The page is double sided and they line up with each other on each side so there are no worries about making a cut and ruining another strip on the alternate side of the page. The downside could be that you love each strip so much that you'll have a tough time picking just one side! The journalling tags are much like the strip tease strips that they match up on either side with no worries of cutting through another tag!
All the colours and patterns co-ordinate as a great line should. What surprised me was just how well they went together. No matter how different each page seemed, it was such a natural fit when putting them together. All of the co-ordinating items, the ribbons and rub-ons also blended seamlessly.
And on to the ribbons. I was pleasantly suprised at the size of the ribbon package. I was thinking it would be smaller, but oh no, it's of ghostly proportions! Five different ribbons, none of them flimsy and small. The velvet ribbon is just so perfectly gothic, the satin ribbon morbidly soft.
You'll notice as well that there are journalling tags and die cut stickers, those are part of the paper pack. The stickers have some weight to them too! The whole line is well made, well thought out and won't put a nail in your coffin price wise.
