Happy Halloween from Posh Designs...

Trick or treat, Smell my feet Give me something good to eat!!!

The history of "Trick'O'Treating" can be traced back to the early celebrations of All Soul's Day in Britain. The poor would go begging and the housewives would give theRandomm special treats called "soulcakes". This was called "going a-souling", and the "soulers" would promise to say a prayer for the dead.
Over time the custom changed and the town's children became the beggars. As they went from house to house they would be given apples, buns, and money.

During the Pioneer days of the American West, the housewives would give the children candy to keep from being tricked. The children would shout "Trick or Treat!".

Freaky Friday - My Little Yellow Bicycle - Frightful Collection

Boo! Did I scare you?

Hopefully not since you don't want to run from this deal! Right now all Fall and Halloween products are on sale for 25% off their regular price.

The My Little Yellow Bicycle Frightful Collection is going quickly so you'll want to get it while it's still alive and kicking, once it's gone it's gone.

My favorite item of this line is the Clear Cuts. Let me explain how these work and then you can go running to get them! They are clear sheets of plastic that go over your photos to give them a "frame", the one I picked as you can see has a spiderweb in the corner with a spider dropping down from it, there are others and they are all just as neat. There are also two banners in clear plastic which go great over your papers and pictures.

As well as the Clear Cuts there are the self adhesive Glitter Chipboard sheets, the most adorable little velvet spiders that you ever did see and some great stickers, both epoxy and dimensional. There is more to this set but I didn't end up using all that was available to me.

Such a spooktacular line and you won't want to miss out!

Ghoulish pages await you when you have the Frightful Collection in your scrapping cemetary. Don't let this one die out on you.

Happy Haunting!

Product Alert! Prima Hybrid CDs

I'll admit it, I'm a traditional scrapper. I love to sit down at my table with my papers and all my other goodies, it's my own little Wonderland! There's something about cutting and pasting and playing around with what I've pulled together that makes me happy.

I've never delved into the world of digital scrapping before. I spend a fair chunk of time by my computer, it's how I'm connected to the world. Being that I work from home, this makes sense, I'm a business of one... me. If I need to send off a note or ask someone a question I turn to the computer. So to have found a hobby that doesn't involve it was wonderful.

In comes the Prima Hybrid CDs. I get a message from Nini telling me she wants me to post about them. Well, what could I say? One never says no if Nini asks something of them! No "Off with her head" for me! *lol* I'm game, why not? These are RFH (retailer friendly hybrid) CDs. The fun thing about them is that it's not just digital, they actually co-ordinate with physical products.

I have to admit, the CDs are fun. They have layouts for both 8"x8" and 12"x12" papers and they have printable papers... how neat is that? There is also a folder for Word Art and there are co-ordinating sticker papers and clear epoxy stickers available from Prima for the word art which work with the printed file.

So I created a page using one of the pre-made layouts. I love my Alice in Wonderland tea set and thought it would be a fun item to do a page about. After adding a few more digital elements, mainly wording, I printed up a page and then sat down to do what I'm good at, adding actual physical elements. Granted I don't have any of the co-ordinating elements on hand but still managed to put together a few sparkly items to finish off the page.

I used some small stick on jewels to accent the printed trim and glittery letters for my title.

So down the rabbit hole I go, falling into the world of Prima Hybrid CDs merging digital with traditional.

Check them out on the Digital Scrapbooking page!

Freaky Friday - Happy Haunting with Cosmo Cricket

Trick or Treat
Smell my feet
Give me something good to eat
Not too big
Not too small
About the size of Montreal

You really are in for a treat with this line. Everything about it is downright spooktacular! It's not just about great looking papers, ribbons and rub-ons. They really thought this line through, right down to the paper names and the bit where they tell you it's acid and lignin free!

I decided for my layout to use the Macabre and Nevermore papers. The names alone made me want to use them and the patterns are to die for! My challenge for this layout was to only use items from the Haunted line. I'm one of those scrappers, who I'm sure like many, use what's on hand and I've been known to mix it up quite a bit. Suprisingly I've managed to pair up items from very different lines and seasons and make it work. This time around, no mixing for me!

Here you'll see some of the great rub-ons in this line. I was a bit skeptical about the white ones but having used a black patterned paper it turned out GREAT! The cobweb in the top left corner felt like it was part of the pattern on the paper as opposed to being put there afterwards.

Even using the rub-ons on lighter coloured paper worked well, here
you can see the cobweb on a light wood patterned paper.

I used one of the strip tease strips. They look great. The page is double sided and they line up with each other on each side so there are no worries about making a cut and ruining another strip on the alternate side of the page. The downside could be that you love each strip so much that you'll have a tough time picking just one side! The journalling tags are much like the strip tease strips that they match up on either side with no worries of cutting through another tag!

All the colours and patterns co-ordinate as a great line should. What surprised me was just how well they went together. No matter how different each page seemed, it was such a natural fit when putting them together. All of the co-ordinating items, the ribbons and rub-ons also blended seamlessly.

And on to the ribbons. I was pleasantly suprised at the size of the ribbon package. I was thinking it would be smaller, but oh no, it's of ghostly proportions! Five different ribbons, none of them flimsy and small. The velvet ribbon is just so perfectly gothic, the satin ribbon morbidly soft.

You'll notice as well that there are journalling tags and die cut stickers, those are part of the paper pack. The stickers have some weight to them too! The whole line is well made, well thought out and won't put a nail in your coffin price wise.

Ghoulishly creepy paper line names : Macabre, Nevermore, Ominous, Eerie, Gothic, Them Bones

Acid Free, Lignin Free, Sugar Free, Fat free, High in Fibre
AND lastly
Yummier than a bag full of candy

Boo! It's Freaky Fridays in October

Just a heads up to all of you out there in Blogger World.

For the month of October every Friday will be a Freaky Friday. Each week you'll hear about new products that are perfect for your Fall, Thanksgiving or Halloween layouts. That's a total of FIVE Fridays worth of goodies.

In addition to pointing you in the direction of ghoulish goodies for your spooky scrapbooks we will also give you tips and ideas for making the most of your morbid memories.

So come on by and stay for a spell.

Lolly, lolly, lolly get your journalling tags here...

Wow! has Posh Designs have something great for you! Look for it soon in the new items section, and when I say soon I mean in the next week or two. It's on it's way and you don't want to miss it! So remember to check back often.

New from Prima Marketing, the most adorable journalling tags I have seen in ages! The first time I saw these I just knew I had to hold them in my not so little hands.

Journalling Books in a Box come in two options, one for boy and one for girl. Personally I think the boy one is fairly gender neutral and could be used for either. Each one has a collection of tags with the most adorable little critters on it. Lions and pandas and owls... oh my!

The vibrant colours just jump right off the tags. The animals scream to be handled. Overall these tags really need to be in YOUR scrapbooks! Each box comes with a collection of tags, 6 designs in all with 6 different edges. Measuring 4"X6" and each box containing 30 sheets. These tags are just too cute for words, but you better not let that stop you because that's just what they're for!

At only $4.99 the price is a steal and there's no reason not to get a box, in fact at that price get two!

Here's what Prima has to say about their product :

These adorable journaling sheets add a dainty touch. With cute little animals like the panda, owl, and fox mixed with light patterns and complimentary color combinations, it makes for a simplistic and classic style of product for any kind of project! Includes 30 4"x6" sheets in 6 designs with 6 different die cut edges such as scallop, tab, perforated, zig zag and more! With so many sheets at such an affordable price these would be perfect for invitations and cards but really fun to use in scrapbooking and other craft projects as well!

Item details: 6 patterns/5 pages each

Sheet size approximately 4"x6"
