Tutorial Thursday with Kim

Hi girls!

This week I begin my weekly columns with a new name, what do you think of Tutorial Thursday!?

Have you ever made a card or a layout that you thought you could never complete? Perhaps you lost your mojo, or maybe you weren't as pleased with how your project turned out!

I must admit that I have a couple of layouts like that. The only reason they have not made it into a trash bin would either be because I loved the photo and/or the papers used!

Here's the start of my layout. I already had the title in mind; "Partage" (Share) but I didn't know how or where to place it and when I'm stumped, I'm REALLY stumped.

So I finally decided to start over my page. I delicately removed my paper from the main cardstock. ( BTW this amazing collection is Kraft Kuts Boy paper pack from Fancy Pants).

I did the same thing with my other patterned paper; completly removed the blue cardstock. I wanted a complementary colors but I didn't own the "perfect" blue to fit with my other papers. So I took a close match to the burgundy on the patterned sheet. Now here's my combination.

I trimmed my cardstock to a tally, I noticed that it wasn't too contrasting. I flipped over my layout and affixed my papers.

I was looking into my stash to find some embellishments which could have worked with my layout but was unable to find anything. So I decided to make my own!

I took some kraft paper and almost matching ink colors from the pattern paper and stamped 4 arrows leaving a white border around them...

The rest was really simple, just a question of embellishing! I found in my ribbon drawer a beautiful blue velvet ribbon so I used it! My title, a couple of brads, buttons and Ta Da! I'm done!

Look at this! Admit that it looks much better than before!

Sorry for the poor quality of my pictures, my scanner is broken. I think there's no desperate case, maybe we only have to take some distance on our project. See you soon!

Hugs and kisses
