Alter It Monday ~ Going "Green" and feeling better

Sometimes I get a little down and out and hit a funk that I just can't shake. It's something that I know will pass, but still it is not that fun and cheery. I know that some of my fellow scrappy friends get this way to. We were talking about it at one time and there was something that we could all agree upon... Altering the tar out of something cheered us up! It was unanimous that creating for the sake of just getting the emotions and feelings out in any way, shape, or form was quite pleasing.

I created this banner one day when I needed such a release.

I challenged myself to make do with what was sitting in front of me on my table. It turned out to be a heap of odds and ends from a kit..mainly scraps. There was a box, some vintage bias tape, packaging from some bingo cards, and some fun goodies like my Tiny Attacher, Crackle Paint, Distress Stickles, and tickets. I knew that I could create "something" out of this little bit of chaos, but what? Simply painting and altering a box wasn't going to do it for me. I thought long and hard and ended up dismantling the box. My "Ah-ha!" moment hit! A Banner!

I went for it with no rhyme or reason and thought how this was starting to make me smile. I had been at a loss for what to actually put on my banner for a word so SMILE fit!

It hangs in my Living Room and I look at it every day. I think about my scrappy friends and where life has taken me thus far. I'm loving every moment of it
